Crieff Food Co - Reducing Plastic

Our Plastic Free Journey

Climate change is upon us. The time to reduce our plastic consumption and indeed how we consume in general has arrived. We are already flying the flag for local and we have been for quite some time. We champion our brilliant local producers and love showcasing the best that Perthshire and Scotland have to offer. It is now time for the next step in our fight against climate change and we hope you will join us.

It is our goal to reduce the plastic that we use in-store. We are still early in our journey but we’re making good progress. Unpackaged is a brilliant new feature at the Crieff Food Co. where you can bring your own jars and containers and refill them with all of your essential dry goods. This way we can reduce plastic packaging and reuse what we already have.

Refill Station

We are now taking this ethos and rolling it out across the store. Bring your empty tupperware to the deli counter and butchery and we will happily refill them for you rather than wrapping them. We have a wide selection of loose fruit ad veg available for you to pack in your own containers. We also stock Field Fayer which is loose frozen goods.

Reducing Plastic

On top of this, we are eradicating plastic in our cold drinks section. Still and sparkling water can now be found in cans – it tastes just as good and doesn’t harm our planet – a win-win!

Follow our journey on social media – we are posting regular updates about what changes we have made and how things are going. If you have any suggestions for how we can further reduce the plastic in-store, we would love to hear from you – send us a message on social and we will see what we can do!
