September updates from The Crieff Food Co – Summer Nights, Comrie Pipe Band, organic eggs, sourdough, Crieff Highland Gathering, World Beard Day

Welcome to your September updates from The Crieff Food Co. Summer is over and nearly are our Summer Nights where we open late every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday until the end of September. And we have loved seeing you all more – and thank you for your support.

Comrie Pipe Band

We’re proud sponsors of the Comrie Pipe Band. Did you catch them playing at The Square recently?

The band is always open to pipers and drummers of any age and provides tuition for learners. Two former members of the chanter class have gone on to compete along with world class pipers at the prestigious Glenfiddich competition at Blair Castle.

If you’d like to join or make a donation to support the band, visit: www.comriepipeband.org.

How many organic eggs do you eat?

While recent studies still don’t offer a consistent answer, the average healthy person likely suffers no harm from eating up to seven eggs per week.

In fact, eggs are a nutritious food. They are relatively low in calories and saturated fat, and rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals.

Choosing organic eggs is better for chickens too.

Why not make eggs part of your next shop at The Crieff Food Co.?

Why is sourdough bread good for you?

Why is sourdough bread better for you?

Sourdough bread contains higher levels of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants than other breads.

Lower levels of phytates allow your body to absorb the nutrients it contains more easily than those in regular bread.

World Beard Day

We celebrated World Beard Day on 2 September, asking on our Facebook fans if theirs were in shape and if not, to get get into The Crieff Food Co at the double because we’ve got the tools, lotions and potions for sleek beard perfection!

Crieff Highland Gathering

And finally, we wished you all a wonderful Crieff Highland Gathering on August 20th!

Until next time!
